The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 entered Early Access today, and after seven hours, the good news is that going back to the style of the original Guild was absolutely the right direction for me.

After finishing the tutorial, we started fresh and managed to establish a tailor business which saw consistent growth, get married and begin a dynasty. Several daughters arrived possessing suspiciously high espionage ratings as babies, which presumably means somebody in Europa is going to have a problem in about fifteen years.

Most of my complaints are exactly what you’d expect from a game entering Early Access. It needs more events, more mechanical options and simply more content across several areas. Fortunately, much of that is already part of the planned roadmap.

Quality-of-life improvements and optimization are just as important. Performance became noticeably rougher as we got deeper into the game, and while a restart helps with that some there are plenty of places where the experience could be made smoother.

I enjoyed what is already here and may even sneak in a little more time. But this dynasty needs time to mature and it could be exciting when it does.

The Guild 1 Remake enters Cryostasis.

The children are growing.

Somebody should probably keep an eye on those daughters.
