The King is Watching has been around since its release last year but had gone largely unexamined until now. With a new DLC release drawing attention to the game, it was finally given a proper look-over.

Despite not reaching the newly released content in the Crowns of History DLC, the base game alone proved engaging. The core systems quickly established a satisfying loop, combining management and strategic choices in a way that feels both accessible and rewarding.

Decisions carry weight, progression feels earned, and the overall pacing encourages continued play for one more wave. While there are many choices to make in the game, the two key decisions of what to build and what to have actively in your view, and therefore producing for you, truely feels like crucial and varied.

While the initial session only scratched the surface, it was enough to leave a strong impression. The game shows clear potential for further time investment if space can be found. I know, that is a theme around here lately.

And now, finally, the stream is watching back.

Pronouncement: Still alive.
