The Comeback King is a small, inexpensive indie boxing management game that quickly delivers something far more important than size: the desire to play just one more match.

Management decisions are relatively straightforward as you guide an un-retired boxer back into the ring, but those choices have enough impact to make every fight matter. Once the bell rings, seven, eight, or even more rounds can turn into an unpredictable roller coaster as a comfortable lead becomes a desperate attempt to survive until the final bell.

The biggest missing feature is the ability to save and pause during rounds, especially when a fight begins running long. It does let you pause between rounds. More depth is always better but when a more simple approach is down very well it can make up for it. With The Comeback King, the simple formula works remarkably well.

Most future fights may happen off stream, but there will definitely be more of them.

The Comeback King is therefore recorded as Alive.

The bell rings.

One more fight.

Pronouncement: Still very much alive.
