Back in December Songs of Silence dropped a new expansion which took time to get onto the stream. A game that is known for it’s insanely beautiful artwork, Songs of Silence also brings good audio. I think what might get over looked is it’s fairly unique gameplay which I find enjoyable when I get in the flow of it.

Songs of Silence has an auto-battle system to go along with a somewhat quick 4X gameplay. You move through a map as part of a scenario or the great campaign doing all 4 of the X’s, exploring, expanding, exploiting and exterminating. Then you move to the next area/map. The combat is an auto-battle system, though you do get some abilities and spells you can call into play from time to time to make an impact.

On stream we checked out the new expansion DLC, which added a whole new campaign with new characters, units, perks and more. Over four hours we got through a touch more than one of the four new chapters and it was time to end the stream.

Songs of Silence may not have received a lot of stream time over it’s lifetime but it goes on ice as it’s return to the stream will probably happen when it gets more content again.

Pronouncement: Cryostasis, even beautiful in ice.
