Graveyard Keeper 2 had more than seven hours to prove itself today, and somehow those seven hours disappeared remarkably fast.
The sequel feels immediately like Graveyard Keeper, which is exactly what I wanted, but several areas also feel more streamlined. Progression in particular seems better paced. There’s still plenty of grinding, but early on it feels reduced enough that you’re moving forward faster while constantly being reminded just how much remains to be done.
There are still some obvious quality-of-life omissions. Being able to pin recipes or move existing work tables would make managing multiple crafting and storage areas easier and help with the flow of everything.
The writing and voice acting, meanwhile, has been outstanding. Several characters have already been absolute home runs and add a surprising amount to a game already overflowing with things demanding your attention.
And yes, a couple of bodies were thrown into the river. Tradition must be respected.
Graveyard Keeper 2 is very much Alive, and we will continue to stream this at least another day.
The graves have been made.
The river remains flowing.
Pronouncement: Still very much alive.
