Eastern Era arrives labeled as a full 1.0 release, though its current state suggests a project still in active development. Built in the mold of 3D RimWorld, the game distinguishes itself through a Chinese cultivation theme, bringing in some interesting twists mechanics for creating your sect and practicing martial arts.
Initial impressions show promise. The process of learning the game on stream proved engaging. There is a clear foundation here that could support a compelling long-term experience.
However, the current build reveals several areas in need of refinement. Quality-of-life improvements are needed, certain systems lack clarity, and the English translation — while functional — would benefit from further polish. Even when opening the game the developers have a note apologizing for the release quality and promosing to make up for it. On the bug side of things it seems to have been an issue for some but I was free from anything serious interputing gameplay.
To the developer’s credit, updates have been arriving rapidly, with multiple patches released within the first 48 hours. This level of responsiveness suggests an active effort to improve the game’s condition.
For now, Eastern Era is placed in Cryostasis. Though officially released, it awaits further refinement before full evaluation can be completed.
The cultivation continues — just not yet in full bloom.
Pronouncement: Placed in Cryostasis.
