Generation Exile introduces a colony-building experience with an emphasis on characters and generational survival. Individuals within the colony are not just units, but persistent entities capable of growth — and death — adding weight to long-term planning.

The game provides unique elements from the location and situation to lore behind why some of the building functions and mechanics exist.

However, the core gameplay loop did not fully connect. The turn-based building system, combined with a more puzzle-like approach to managing structures, created friction that made the experience difficult to settle into.

While there are interesting ideas at work, they were not enough to sustain engagement through the session.

It is also worth noting that the evaluation took place under less-than-ideal conditions, which may have influenced the experience. Pain from dental work. As such, others may find more to appreciate in the game than was uncovered during stream. Perhaps longer evaluation is a must for this game, though I am not sure that is on the table.

Generation Exile is therefore recorded as Dead.

The colony continues.
