Big Ambitions has a fantastic premise. Build businesses, expand into an empire, manage the logistics behind it all, while a light life sim puts an actual person behind the balance sheet. After barely touching its original Early Access release, 1.0 (and Zero Company crashing non-stop for me) seemed like the perfect time to finally dive in for a few days.

Three streams later, the ambition is still easier to love than the execution.

For a game about building a business empire, the management side often feels surprisingly short on information. Individual businesses offer only limited historical data, only giving you one week for some information and only one day for other information. Combined with missing quality-of-life features, managing an expanding operation became more frustrating than satisfying.

There is plenty here to enjoy, and it’s easy to see why the combination of business management and life simulation works for others. But some of the experience began to feel like forced grind standing between the interesting decisions.

After years of Early Access, it is harder to excuse those shortcomings at 1.0.

Big Ambitions is therefore recorded as Dead.

Management needed better records.

Limited records equals limited playtime.

Pronouncement: Pronounced dead.
